Reading, writing, and grammar are an essential part of everyday life. However, it can be a challenging subject for some students. Therefore, creating and implementing engaging lessons and projects is crucial. iPads will allow me to utilize apps, such as ChatterPix, for reading and writing in work stations. ChatterPix is an app that I have used previously. It was exciting to see the students so engaged and interested in writing during these projects! First, the students would choose a topic of interest. Next, they would write their story. Then, we moved on to the app where students could use a picture, and make it talk. Once done, I would export them to my computer and we would watch them on the big screen. I could include so many objectives into this activity, including point of view. There are many other apps that I want to implement within my classroom, including QR codes. Again, this is an activity that students thoroughly enjoy. There are several different ways that I include this into the lessons, or work stations. One way is for students to bring it to their desk area and work on it independently. Another exciting way I use this app is to have students participate in a scavenger hunt. These different types of learning strategies provide a multitude of opportunities to differentiate for student’s learning styles.
