The items I'm requesting will help a variety of students at my school. I oversee the RtI, Response to Intervention, process and work with teachers and students to fill in gaps. The materials listed will help solidify basic mathematical concepts with which many of these students struggle. The dice will be used to practice basic math facts but can be differentiated to increase complexity. The unifix cubes and counters help students who are in the concrete stage of development have a hands-on experience with number sense. The Times Tables book is fantastic for those students who struggle with multiplication facts but comprehend stories with ease. Your donations will help many of our students who struggle with math have hands-on, engaging activities to fill in gaps and move them forward as confident mathematicians. All it takes for most of them is exposure to concrete materials and quality instruction. Our school uses the workshop model with small group instruction and practice which allows us to focus on the specific needs of our students. With this kind of instruction and quality materials, how can we go wrong?
