Our classroom is in an old homemaking room with little to no equipment for learning independent living skills. We cook at least once per month but have not been able to learn how to use a stove top because of lack of safe options. We generally make cold snacks and bake in the ovens. The Nuwave cook top gives the class a safe alternative to regular stove tops (which were removed from the room). There is no baking or stove top cookware available at this time. Measuring and mixing equipment is nonexistent. Our monthly cooking lessons reinforce our math and science learning while also teaching us independent living skills.
