The materials that I have selected will have a major impact on how my students view science. Having the opportunity to use "real-life" equipment to conduct experiments is indescribable. Being able to perform hands-on activities will help the students better understand the concepts being taught. It will help to increase their academic scores and focus. Minorities are under represented in the science field and with our demographics: Hispanics 13%, Black 33%, Pacific Islander 1%, White 40% and 2 or more races 12% with 219 males and 230 females making up the student body. The middle science department is in the process of being developed. We lack the equipment needed to ensure the educational opportunities for our students; bringing science alive. Beakers, graduated cylinders, microscopes, prepared slides and chemistry model kit. These supplies will make a difference increasing their interest in science. Your support will make a difference!
