STEM bins are small plastic pencil boxes filled with various "engineering" maliputives. Students will be able to explore and engineer through play throughout the year with different bins. Students become engineers and inventors as they create structures using a variety of items in the bins. Students will design blueprints before building their structures and write about the finished product before sharing with classmates. Students will have the opportunity to build bridges, houses, towers, slides, boats, cars, tunnels, trains, castles, and more. Students have the freedom to use their creativity and imagination to escape to the world of inventing and engineering. Some examples of include: using wooden blocks for towers, playdough, straws, and craft sticks to design bridges, plastic cups, dominoes, tape, picks, and foam balls to construct castles and towers. The possibilities are endless with STEM bins!
