My music class services all students in the school. These students come from a wide range of educational backgrounds, from gifted students to IEP students. We are a Title 1 school in a high poverty area. Often, music is the one class of the day where everyone can succeed regardless of socioeconomic or educational backgrounds. Music provides a way for my students to express themselves in a healthy and supportive environment. It gives them a chance to forget about the worries of today and just be a kid.
