Programming and robotics are becoming industries that are extremely important for the future success of our children. We've been engaged in the Hour of Code for the last 3 years and have had tremendous success with developing websites, mobile applications, and basic holiday cards but my students struggle with transforming our coding prowess into the physical world. In my dream classroom, I want to have exciting Star Wars themed Sphero robots used in various lessons with an emphasis on how we learn, what we learn, and how we code information. Importantly, the students would not just be consuming technology but creating and manipulating it. The perfect compliment to rigid robots, programming, and coding would be to capture artistic students' imagination in developing 3D models, designs, and creations with 3D Dream Maker Pens. By fundamentally bridging the gap between creative student minds and rigid robots, I hope to enrich their learning and programming experiences for ultimate success in the 21st century workplace.
