My students and the school are multi ethnic. I have 22 1st graders this year. They are a talkative and friendly group of learners who love to learn and participate! I have a flexable classroom so that students can practice reflection and choice. As a teacher I not only teach general subjects but I am also a music teacher, p.e teacher, art teacher, etc. These subjects come with minimal tools from the district. As a 8th year teacher I struggle to teach my students without proper items like notebooks, art supplies, and STEAM manipulatives. I am hoping that if I get funded, my students will be able to have a more hands-on learning experience that will help them pass the 1st grade and feel confident going into the next grade.
