I'm piloting blended learning in my 2nd grade class! Blended Learning allows the kids to work independently on a device at their own pace on content & activities, giving me the opportunity to work with kids in a small group. I have 10 laptops for them to work on, but most are not familiar with using one. They have the hardest time using the touch pad when working on activities especially my special needs kids. Having a mouse will help them feel more comfortable using the laptops without any problems. When the kids are logging on everyday they log themselves off and I have to stop my small group because they touched the wrong thing on the touch pad and I have to help them log back on. This happens right in the middle of an activity, assignment or project and they end up losing their work. They use the laptops on various online programs for reading, math and science.
