Check out how these teachers showed their gratitude to donors.
It's hard to put into words how grateful I am for your donation to my project. I am committed to providing students with a relevant curriculum that develops lifelong skills, and it is inspiring to see so many others that share my vision for education. The tools that you have funded will enable students to engage in problem solving deeply connected to their communities and their lives. They will fully explore the Design Cycle, from research and drafting to creation and evaluation. Students are incredibly excited to begin the project. The processes we can explore with a 3D printer will deepen their learning and push them to explain the reasoning they have behind a design. My students love to make new creations, and we're thrilled to be able to use the printer. It will be a centerpiece of the Design class for some time. Thank you once more for your generosity. We can't wait to begin!
Thank you all for your help! My students are very excited to learn to make baskets, masks, and weavings. And thanks to you, they will have quality supplies and a great experience learning. It's going to be a wonderful opportunity for them to learn all about the cultures that their peers come from. We have students from all over the world, and it's amazing to hear the stories that come up while students are working during art class. Last year, a girl from Thailand told all of us stories of weaving with her grandmother during our weaving unit. I can't wait to tell you what amazing things will happen in art class because of the difference you've made! Look forward to pictures, smiles, and many notes of thanks from our kids. Thanks to you all, and happy holidays!
Thank you and thank you again! A love of reading does not happen easily when you have no books to call your own. Your support gives every Kindergarten student at my school what they need: a book to keep. In the past, it was difficult for me to understand how books cannot be readily available for all children to read. While working at my school for the past 9 years, I have heard many of our children say they have no books at home. My goal is to provide every child with one book, then another, and another. My motivation is to increase their love of books. Without a book, how can you determine its value? Thank you for giving and helping me reach my goal.
I can't wait to hear the "oohs and aahs" when my students see our new instruments! Thank you for providing us with soprano xylophones! Active music-making makes all the difference, and now because of your generosity and caring, we have these beautiful instruments to play. Kindergarten students can explore high and low, second graders can figure out the melody of a simple song, fourth graders can rock out to Zimbabwe marimba music, and middle schoolers can replicate an Aztec-style piece. And that only scratches the surface! Their uses are diverse and meaningful! What a wonderful opportunity you have provided for us! My very deepest thanks! I am so grateful!
Thank you so much for helping to fund my project. My students were so thrilled to hear the news when the email arrived this morning. They have missed being able to listen to audio books so much since our old player died. Having this CD player will allow them to begin listening again as soon as it arrives. I haven't even told them about the new books that will be accompanying the new player. I can barely wait to see their faces when they pull new Magic School Bus audios out of the box. They will be over the moon with excitement.
Thank you so much for being a part of this great group of people coming together to support and encourage the incredible growth taking place in my classroom. Every day we are pushing ourselves to learn more and become stronger in math and these materials being brought into our classroom are so essential in helping me try to reach all of my students. These math tools will especially help my students who are struggling to see the numbers they are working with as visual representations. Seeing it in a different way can bring about that 'Aha!' moment. Suddenly, it all just clicks and a student finally understands what was unclear so many times before. But even more magical than that is that you are showing my students that so many people care about their education and want them to succeed and that alone makes them want to try harder and learn more. Thank you for making all of this possible!
We want to thank you so much for your generosity. I can't begin to tell you what it means to these kids to have information at their fingertips! They are sweet, hard-working, highly intelligent kids who sometimes just need a little boost, and you are all part of that for them. They are already designing the first project for us to do with our new tablets. Again, thank you, and we will send you pictures after we get the tablets to show you what we've done! Our classroom is a better place because of your awesome contribution.
We are now funded for our Grand Canyon trip and are ready to roll come April! Thanks to donors like yourself, this adventure is a reality and one that the students will always remember. I am very grateful and excited to see the impact the Grand Canyon will have on our students. Thank you so much for seeing the need for an educational trip and an excellent opportunity for children to learn! "Hands-on" and "in-person" are the best ways students acquire knowledge and this trip will beat all! You are truly appreciated!
I am so excited to see that this project has funded. I can't wait to go to school on Monday and let the kiddos know they can now "drive" in Kindergarten. The support of the DonorsChoose community is overwhelming and I feel so blessed to know so many people that value public education as much as you do. Thank you again for allowing me to provide these materials for my children. The need of developmental play is so great and this project will certainly help with that need.
Thank you so much for your donations! My students are going to enjoy watching caterpillars turn into butterflies! Students will learn so much about life cycles. This project will be one of the things students remember learning about in kindergarten. Instead of just showing my students pictures or videos they will see and take part in the life cycle process. I can't wait to bring this project to my classroom for my students - thanks to all of you! Again, thank you!
Wow! Thank you. This is such terrific news on this snowy day in NYC. We are actually in the process of writing a persuasive essay for a new unit, so these pens will arrive just in time for the editing process. The students will be so very excited to hear the news. I am sure that this will get them more embedded in improving their writing, as well. Your contribution really means a lot to my students and I and we thank you for you donations. Once again thank you so much.
As a Health and Fitness Teacher in an urban area it isn't always easy to inspire kids to take on a healthy lifestyle. One thing I have found to help motivate them is to incorporate technology into my classes. Kids seem to gravitate to having that independent control over their results. Thanks to you all we will be able to provide an experience to students that is unlike anything most of them would get outside of school. I can't wait to share our photos with you!
Wow! Thank you all so much for your support and helping fund this project! My students were ecstatic to hear they will be able to continue color coding their writing. It has helped so many of them with their writing and has become a great tool to get them excited about writing. We are also very excited to receive the post its. My students love taking notes on post its and printing out questions and activities on them as well. The colored ink is the way my students are able to print out their colored writing when they choose to type their final drafts. I love the way the colored writing brightens up our walls and showcases their work. Thank you all again for your generous donations and your support!
Thank you so much for funding these non-fiction books. My students will be using these to research and then write their own books about their chosen subject. Having books at their reading level is so important. I hope to help them become more independent in their ability to research. These books are the key. These students often go without, but in our classroom the world is open to them through reading and writing. I can't wait to share your generosity with them. I can picture the excitement on their faces. It makes me smile.
All I can say right now is WOW! You all have made our learning dreams come true. These supplies are going to motivate our students so much more! They already LOVE center time. Just wait until I tell them all about the new supplies we will be getting that they will be able to work with during center time! They are going to be blown away! Thank you for the cd players, thank you for the reading puzzles, thank you for the writing center! Again, THANK YOU so much for supporting our class!
What a wonderful way to start the new year! I am so grateful for this wonderful gift. My students will be surprised to see that we now have tablets to help us learn. It is such a relief to know that we have access to technology that works and we don't have to share with several other classrooms. This very generous gift will make our lives much easier and give us so much more time actually learning instead of fighting old hand-me-down laptops. We will use them to access educational apps as well as websites such as Khan Academy. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for your support of our school music program! Our kids will be so excited to learn that they will have a new drumset and be able to play as an official performance band. Our advanced music students currently play with one electric bass, one electric guitar, a keyboard and one acoustic guitar. A new drum set will definitely help round out their sound. They are learning to play together through covers but are also tasked with composing original songs. We look forward to expanding performances to the rest if the school and local community. Happy New Year to you all!
There are not enough words to express my joy, gratitude, and thanks for your generous donations to my class project. My students and I are so very appreciative of your support for education and creative, hands-on techniques for learning. We are looking forward to receiving these dry-erase boards. They will be a great tool as we continue to grow and learn in the classroom. We can't wait to share some pictures of us using our new boards! Thank you again!
Thank you so much for your support and believing in our classroom! The students will really benefit from listening to literature on CD with the headphones. They love to listen to the stories and now will have the opportunity to do it over and over again electronically. We are eager for their arrival and we can't wait to start using them. Donors like you make it possible for me to do my job effectively. Thank you for your contribution and making the world a better place!
I do not have the words to express my gratitude for your support for our project. We try to offer as many opportunities to our students as we can, and your support makes it possible for us to continue to do this. The supplies that you are providing for my students will allow us to teach/reinforce good hand-washing habits that will help the students and their families now and in the future. Good habits help promote good health, which in-turn promotes regular school attendance. Regular school attendance can change the students' lives. My students will do their best to write/draw "thank you" notes! I appreciate your interest and support so much.
The kids will be delighted! Thank you! It's nice that the project was funded by a bibliophile. There's a certain kind of kid who loves to hang around the library. Just today I heard a seventh grader refer to it as his 'second home'. I'm sure you can appreciate the sentiment. The cool thing about Pokemon is that doesn't tie in to any reading program: Pokemon books don't supplement any textbook, and nobody has made up any online quizzes about them to test student comprehension. They are just FUN. How refreshingly old-fashioned is THAT?! Good for you! Thank you for remembering our kids.
I cannot express how thankful I am for your generosity. My students are going to be so excited. They love playing ping pong with the thin small tables I have, and now they will really enjoy it on the new table. Thanks again I can't wait for the resource to arrive. I enjoy the look on my students' faces when I show them new equipment. My students do not have much. So when I am able to introduce them to something new I love it. They are great kids who just need a break. With all the problems in there lives I like to feel like I'm there for them always whether it is in life, school, or sports.
You did it! I am so grateful and excited. I especially can't wait to see the looks on my students' faces when they realize I am going to ""allow"" them to choose a book that includes so many pictures! Because of your support, students will be able to learn about a part of the world and history that most of them know very little about. And, best of all, I can't wait to read their personal memoirs inspired by this book. Each one of you is a true hero for supporting public school kids. Thank you!!!!
This is incredible! The days were ticking down and I began to doubt if this proposal would receive enough support to earn full-funding. Silly me. Words cannot describe what I am feeling at this moment. My classes are currently at lunch, so as soon as I am done typing this letter, I'm about to bring a gigantic ray of sunshine into a dreary cafeteria. I hope you're all excited to see pics of us shopping in Barnes & Noble and receive a TON of thank-you letters, because they're coming! Thank you for truly making a major impact on the lives - both in and out of school - of four deserving, hard-working, and soon-to-be very grateful classes. (Their teacher is already grateful.)
I am so excited to know that such wonderful people stepped up to help my students be better readers and learn to love reading. I can't thank each of you enough for your kindness and generosity. The CD players and audio books will make such a difference for my students. I can not wait to see their faces when the supplies arrive but more importantly I can not wait to see the excitement on their faces when they realize they are becoming real readers! Watching students learn to read and love reading is one of the greatest joys of my job. Thank you again for helping to give my students the tools they need to be as successful as possible.
Thank you so much for helping to fund this project. I hope that this gives many students the opportunity to experience the positive life affirming power of making music. Now, more than ever, students need the chance to make music as a way to connect with their own humanity. Thank you again for helping to make this possible for a few more of our most needy and deserving students! Make sure to be on the look out for pictures of my students with their shiny new instruments!
I can't thank you enough for your generosity! I am extremely grateful, and my students are going to be very excited about this addition to our classroom library. We have a decent classroom library, but most books have been used by several other classes, and I only had 3 or 4 bilingual books in the library. These new books will fly off the shelves and will be well loved and cared for. They will boost student's confidence because many of the books are at the level that my lowest students need in order to improve. Reading is key to the success of my students and I am trying to instill in them a love of reading. Thank you for your help in this mission!
I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. Thank you for helping to ensure my Family Literacy Night is a success. I can't wait to see the looks on the students faces when they are choosing their books and their voices as they read to their families. One or two books may seem trivial, but for children who don't have any of their own, they are treasures. I am excited to continue planning for the Family Literacy Night, March 6th, and can now include writing thank you notes as an activity for parents and students to participate in together!
Wow! Just...Wow! I had to stop class in order to release all of the excitement I had after seeing the email that said not one, but two projects were funded. Donna, you and the folks at T Rowe Price are our heroes. We recently submitted the two projects you funded. We were working in pairs and I called all of the students to the carpet. I let them read the email for a few seconds and they were excited. They dropped their jaws when they saw that their second project had been successfully funded. We can't wait to show you how much we value your donation. We will continue to get better because of you! You are our new inspiration.
Thank you soooooo much for your contribution! This couldn't have come at a better time! Just last week my students were mentioning that we need more books because "all the good books were gone". My students have embarked in their independent reading for the year and adding these books to our library will definitely encourage them to continue reading. Thank you so much! Happy holidays to you and yours and may the new year be filled with many blessings!
