Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Zoom, zoom, zoom is what my little kindergarten sea otters are doing this year. We’re not even halfway through the year yet and almost everyone has mastered their ABC’s and 123’s, including my students who are learning English as a second language. This year has been different because they have been expected to learn remotely for the past four months due to the pandemic and they have definitely risen to the challenge. I am so proud of how well they are using technology so responsibly to connect with me every day. Since our first week of school, I modeled how to ask a question and respond with an opinion and they just blew me away when I recently handed it off to them and held them accountable for carrying on the conversation with each other. My T.A. and I were so impressed at how polite and respectful they were to one another that it brought tears to my eyes to witness how much they have grown in so little time. It makes us so excited to see how much more they will continue to grow in the coming months.
My Project
My students and I will all benefit from this Apple iPad Air because it will allow me to have a stronger and faster WiFi connection while teaching my students remotely. In addition, I will be able to download all the resources that I need to plan meaningful and interactive lessons for my students, correct and assign asynchronous assignments, and communicate with my students' parents.
We all know that our current situation depends on the use of technology so please help me do my job more efficiently by providing me with the most essential tool that I need right now to do my job.
