Hello, Please consider donating to my project! My name is Kasey Michell and I teach Special Education to a group of preschool age students within the Anchorage School District. The school I work at is a Title One school and is also one of the most diverse schools in the country.
We learn through play!
My students come from very diverse backgrounds there are multiple language spoken within my classroom. Most of my students live in low income houses and all of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students learn through hands on experiences. In preschool we are working on language development, social emotional skills and pre academics. We do our best learning in small groups with hands on materials.
These materials will help teach my students how to develop language skills, fine motor skills and social emotional skills. In preschool the students have limited attention span so the materials need to be fun and engaging. Open ended crafts help foster an imagination and language skills. While the student is creating art we can talk with them and expand on their amazing ideas.
With these materials we will create masterpieces!
We will learn how to identify letters and numbers and share these toys with our peers. In preschool students develop skills that will help them through out their whole life. These social emotional skills happen through working together. We will learn through play!
