My Students
I currently teach computer technology to 1st through 5th graders in a NYC public school classroom. My students are vibrant, creative, and enthusiastic! They have a great sense of humor and have built a strong, supportive classroom community. They love to learn and come to school every day ready to explore new topics.
My hard-working and brilliant students far exceed the expectations society places on them on a daily basis.
Our school is also centrally located in a low-income neighborhood, where educational resources are not always available to our students. However, my students don't let their environment or labels define their education or potential. They are constantly asking, "What are we learning next, Ms. B.?" or "Can we research that some more, Ms. B.?" My students' love for learning fosters my love for teaching. Their determination to do their best each and every day motivates me to give 110% to everything I do with them!
My Project
My students have been working on very exciting projects this year in computer science. Currently, they are learning how to code, debug programs, and even create their own animations. This creates a very exciting environment that can sometimes distracts certain students while they are working.
A class set of headphones will allow my young computer scientists the opportunity to zone in on their projects without distraction.
The headphones will be used by all students in first through fifth grade who visit the lab, as well as by the ENL (English as a New Language) program that is held in the lab.
