My kindergarten students are the most special little people! They come to school ready to learn, they love being around each other and are always encouraging. They work hard every day, ask a thousand questions (and in turn I answer those questions), and they are always game for a good dance session! They come in knowing a few letters and leave being able to read and write sentences, which is amazing work in one school year! They are so proud of their hard work and their families are proud of them, too!
My Project
My little nuggets have long days in kindergarten. Many of them have never been to school all day until now. There's already so much emphasis on performance, but they are still small children. Sometimes they need to rest or take a break!
Using yoga mats in kindergarten helps give the students their own safe space, a spot in the room to relax, and we are actually going to do yoga on them!
They love doing yoga before and after things like assessments, a long convocation, and even in the morning when they get to school.
These yoga mats will also be used for a safe space for each child. Since they are portable, they can use them for breaks, while they are reading, watching a video, you name it. Since they are easy to clean, we won't have to worry about spreading germs around the room either! They are the perfect comfy thing for kindergarteners to feel like school is a safe and magical place to learn and also take care of their minds and bodies!
