Help me give my students the movement that under desk pedals, wobble chairs, and fidget bands give them in order to concentrate on their next great adventure in the book they are reading.

My Students

I teach in a small rural school. Four year old students through seniors in high school share a campus and a cafeteria. This provides a strong sense of community. Many of my students' siblings, parents, and even grandparents attended school here.

My students get so excited to explore other places and cultures through the wonder of books.

Their opportunity for travel may be limited, but they love to travel through books.

Many of them work hard caring for animals, farming, or helping with family businesses. They bring that same work ethic into the classroom.

My Project

Fidget bands, wobble stools and under desk exercisers all allow for active sitting. Our students have seven fifty-five minute class periods with four minutes between classes and twenty-seven minutes for lunch and recess. That is a lot of sitting, resulting in a lot of built up energy.

My students are more focused and create fewer distractions when allowed to move.

They absolutely love the few resources I currently have to allow movement. They come in the door asking for a turn to use them. More resources, means more students served.
