Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

About My Students

Our choir students work hard to put together amazing concerts and performances. They look so professional in their formal concert performance attire. The pictures that we take provide our students with so many memories. We also used them to promote our choir at school and in the community.

Our choir students have great memories of their time learning and performing in the choir program. A great amount of time and energy goes into their performance attire and how they look as a group. They look professional and represent the music program and school very well. We are interested in using some of the great pictures from the school year to promote the choir program. Many students in our school do not realize that we have an award winning choir program at our school. They need to see our choir in action. We hope that by promoting our choir with high quality posters and pictures, we can get students interested in joining the choir program.

One of the skills that we teach choir members is to pay close attention to details. This is as true for their visual presentation as well as their music presentation. When my students pay attention to details it enhances the quality of our group. Everyone needs to be pulling in the same direction if we are going to be successful as a group. These skills will benefit them as they continue their learning at the next level.

In Their Own Words

Our goal is to promote our chorus program using high quality pictures and posters to motivate students to join the choir. These posters will help inform everyone about our chorus program and what we do in it. Just think, awesome looking FRAMED choir pictures hanging where students need to see them. When students see how great these pictures look it will get them excited to check our the choir program. Mission accomplished!

There will be students in charge of organizing formal photo shoots. These will be pictures in concert dress. Girls will wear their concert dresses and boys their tuxedos. Along with traditional group pictures. We will be brainstorming ideas for the kinds of pictures that we want to take, whether it be serious or more entertaining. The final part of the process will involve printing and framing the best choir pictures to show others how exciting choir can be!

This project is very important to us because it will help promote our chorus program and help our program become well recognized around our school. Not many people know about what we do in chorus or are even aware that we have a chorus program. As a choir student, I personally think it would be great for the chorus program to be more well known as it will improve our performance attendance rate and motivate people to join chorus.
