Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an average of 30/40 members every year. The students volunteer for various activities like serving at our local food pantry, collecting books for hospitals, and so many other great causes. FCCLA is working extra hard this year raising money so they can do more! The group of students I have are such loving, caring kids. They are hard workers and will always work until they achieve the goal they set. My students all work as a team achieving the projects they take on.
My Project
My students will be able to run the flamingos as a school fundraiser called you’ve been flamingoed. This will be a fun fundraising project. People pay for the students to go and put plastic flamingos in the yard of their choice. Then the yard owner can pay to have them removed, replaced in another yard, and can buy insurance so they are not flocked again this school year. This will help raise funds for my students to put toward services they plan on volunteering for this school year. The funds will also be used for field trip cost. The students will be able to attend several hands on field trips to improve their skills.
