My Project

Moving into 4th grade feels like a dream come true for me. I have always hoped to teach this grade level, where students are ready to dive deeper into chapter books, think critically, and truly fall in love with reading. As I make this transition, I want to create a classroom filled with excitement, curiosity, and meaningful literacy experiences. A class set of Harry Potter would help me do exactly that.

There is something special about Harry Potter, and it has a way of reaching students who don’t yet see themselves as readers.

I’ve seen how even reluctant readers become invested in the story, eager to find out what happens next. That kind of engagement is powerful, especially at this age when reading confidence can make such a lasting impact.

With the new Harry Potter TV series coming out, I know my students will already be buzzing with excitement. I plan to build a fully immersive reading experience where students are sorted into houses, work together to earn points, and even play our own version of Quidditch. We’ll celebrate our reading journey with a movie day and meaningful discussions that bring the story to life. My goal is to create a classroom where students don’t just read a book - they live it. More than anything, I want them to feel that spark, that joy, and that sense of belonging that turns them into lifelong readers.
