My students, ARE the future. They work hard every day to do their very best to learn and grow. My students- regardless of demographics and socioeconomic status are showing growth, as a teacher there is nothing else that makes me more proud.

At the begginning of the 2017-18 school year, I took a leap and decided to try flexible seating in my classroom. I have seen my students really utilize the seating as a way for them to be successful. I would love to give my students next year more flexible seating options.
My Project
Imagine walking into your favorite coffee shop to work on a huge proposal for work. You choose a spot that is comfortable, flexible and will help get those creative juices flowing. That is what flexible seating in our classroom can do. Students choose where they want to work, on the floor, on a yoga ball, in a cushion chair. These options provide the necessary tools for students with ADHD, ADD, and sensory needs the opportunity to be successful.
These options (wobble cushions, balance balls, and stack stools) maximize a students potential for growth.
If they can make the decision of where to sit to help meet their needs academically they will be more successful. Teachers are always discussing ways to differentiate lessons to meet the students needs, this is just another way we can reach out to help them.
