Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These new students to third grade are coming back from being away from the classroom for a long time. One of the best ways to connect with children is reading to them.
These students will crave routine, normalcy and connection.
Daily read alouds will be the best medicine for them. I am excited to provide that for them.
My Project
I am new to teaching third grade, so new books are definitely needed for my classroom library. I have been teaching for almost twenty years with the focus being in primary grade levels.
These new library books will be a mix of third grade level chapter books including The Diary of a Wimpy Book Collection.
As of right now, I only owned one of their books and it was always checked out. Having the whole collection will definitely spark an excitement of reading in the classroom. Lastly, I have chosen some favorite teacher read alouds that deal with social emotional teaching and STEM education. Thank you for helping out our classroom.
