Teaching Science is very important to me as a third grade teacher as I did not receive a sound education in Science, particularly biology and life sciences until my methods courses in college. I realized then how much I had truly missed, that as a teenager, I thought I had it made not having to take those "yucky" courses. I want my students to be exposed to the many things that our curriculum has set for us. However, without the needed supplies, I am unable to provide such rich experiences in my classroom. I am in need of the following materials: Globe, Earth-moon-sun model, thermometers, plastic beaker set, carnivorous plant set, 1 gallon terrarium, mini skeleton model, plant life cycle stamp set, hand lenses, eye dropper, plant flip chart, and a seed assortment set. With just these materials, I can provide some real life, hands-on enriching experiences for my students that will lead them to a better understanding of the things in their world than any textbook could do.
