This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students need opportunities to independently read nonfiction books to explore their world. Our students have not had the chance to enjoy reading with peers due to Covid. This will give them a chance to learn and read together in the classroom. These are K-1 gifted students in a pull-out program. They will be able to collaborate on both reading nonfictional text and creating their Mind Maps on high-interest topics they can choose. My students come from homes with challenges and have not had the opportunities to go to libraries or attend field trips.
