Help me give my students a class set of the first book written by our former President Barack Obama; his 1995 memoir Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.

The students in my classroom have grown up in a small Mississippi City. My students attend the only public high school in the city. Demographically, our school is 93% African-American. The rest of the students in this city attend a private high school.
My students are hard workers.
They work hard on things they find to be valuable. Most of my students dream about moving away from the area after they graduate. All of my students need access to reading material which is more modern, interesting to them, relatable, and inspiring.
A class set of the former President Barack Obama's first memoir will be a book my students actually enjoy reading. Reading the book will help promote literacy among students with some of the lowest reading levels in the entire United States. For a high school civics student, the book will provide invaluable insight into the sense of civic responsibility which our former President felt from a young age and illustrate a feasible path others could take in order to fulfill that sense of duty. Students being able to read about and visualize the path one of their idols took, and another African-American, into public service could realistically inspire them to try and do the same.
