This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in our band are great kids. They are showing a curiosity and a desire to learn and play music. This is my first-year teaching and guiding them in their musical journey, and so far, it has been a great experience.

The first thing I noticed was the lack of usable instruments that the school had available.

Either the instruments were destroyed needing repair or the school just simply did not have enough. As a high school band teacher not having enough or lacking the finances for all those repairs can be disheartening.

The students that will be using these materials will be very happy once the needs are met. The clarinet and other accessories on the list will be well used and appreciated.
