Young Minds Tackle Math And Science Through Technology
My students need an assortment of math and science manipulatives, learning kits, puzzles, and a computer to use for math and science educational software.
How can you resist young students whose eyes lit up when they get to use technology in the classroom? It can't be denied that technology in the classroom is now an essential tool in learning even at an early age. It keeps young minds curious and more engaged about the world around them.
I have a smart and inquisitive group of 5 and 6 year olds!
There are 25 Kindergarteners in my class and all are excited when it comes to Science and Math. They come from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds which also brings diverse and fresh ideas when they all come together. We have a dedicated team of teachers and parents in our school who want nothing more than the best for each and every student.
My Project
Kindergarten students learn concepts best through hands-on exploration. I am requesting Math kits that include counting to 100, measuring capacity, and individual problem solving mats. These are challenging concepts for young kids but the use of concrete manipulatives helps them develop an understanding of these topics. The Motion Discovery kit and the different Life-Science puzzles and play objects will also enable my students to associate the concept of science as occurring in their daily lives.
After having numerous opportunities for concrete exploration, the use of technology for enrichment is always novel and fun. When students are given the chance to use a computer and engage in computer games, it reinforces their learning more. My students are always excited to see animation and thoroughly enjoy interactive learning. An addition of a new computer will enable my students to enjoy math and science age-appropriate software both in group and individual stations.
I wish to satisfy my students' love for learning by making math and science real and applicable through concrete activities.
Interactive learning through technology extends my young students' understanding of a topic in a fun and engaging way. It is important to establish at an early age how learning math and science can be exciting, enriching, and fulfilling. I want to be responsible in imparting those feelings to my young students.
