Mrs. Hosley from Oakland CA is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 4 iPads to strengthen their math and reading skills in order to prepare them for the future in this world of technology.

"Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in another time,"-Chinese Proverb. Technology is ever-changing, and I am learning every day alongside my students as we explore the vast world through the Internet.
The students at this school come from neighborhoods all over our city, with families that want a good education for their children.
Some of my students have faced adversity and most consider school to be a second home where they can feel comfortable, safe, happy, and part of a community that cares for them.
With under 250 students total, our school is quite small. I teach one of the kindergarten classes that begs for differentiation and varied learning strategies due to the huge difference in learning levels. With that being said, my classroom is part of a blended learning and project-based cohort in order to bring individualized instruction to all students. Our school has also opened up a new Makerspace where my students can make their ideas a reality and visualize what they are learning. Because of our diverse learning program, my students are excited to come to school every day and are eager to grow and better themselves.
The majority of my students need to practice their reading, language and math skills. These iPads will enable students to access math and reading applications which will enhance our blended learning curriculum. With the tablets, students will be able to explore different reading and math applications, which will strengthen their skills at various levels. My students will also be able to use these devices to explore academic sites that will allow them to practice their skills with other classmates, and engage in critical thinking and academic discussions. The versatility of these devices will also push students to work independently or with partners when needed. I see how engaged and excited the students are when they are able to use technology in our classroom and believe that the addition of these iPads will drive my students to be lifelong learners.
With technology ever-growing and changing, our children need to be fully prepared and able to use these technologies proficiently.
