My students are discovering their world through their senses. They learn best by doing things themselves. These preschoolers are active-always moving, growing, learning.
Giving them opportunities to express themselves helps create a sense of identity as it relates to their environment.
They all love to show what they can do.
Their brains are developing fast now than they ever will throughout their lives. Having fun while learning is what this age group needs. Keeping their attention is hard work. Their play is their work. And we love working together.
My Project
My classroom would greatly benefit from some of the music activities I have used in the past. There are some classic artists and musicians who just know how kids operate and have created some great tunes with them in mind.
The Greg and Steve, "We All Live Together" set has everything.
They are staples for many classrooms.
Of course, anyone in this field who doesn't know Ella Jenkins needs to be introduced. Children learn about other cultures music and revisit some old stand-bys.
Hap Palmer-not enough can be said about his work in getting children to move and learn. His song, "Oh! What a Miracle" gives children a chance to explore what it means to be "ME"!
