My students need fine line markers and a variety of writing papers to write pen pal letters and stories.

Kindergartners want to be writers! I teach Kindergarten to a group of highly-energized children from a high free and reduced lunch population that are motivated to write about themselves and interested in finding things out about other Kindergartners.

My students have the opportunity to set up Pen Pals with a group of Kindergartners at another school. We are in need of writing markers and "fancy" paper to write about our experiences. We are so anxious to tell our stories and hear about the stories of other Kindergartners. Kindergartners are such fabulous storytellers and they would gain much insight and writing practice by writing to their Pen Pals.

Kindergartners can read and write and this opportunity would allow them to continue working on these great endeavors. The hands-on experience and new friendships that would develop would be powerful motivations for Kindergartners to continue as fabulous writers. We need fine-line markers and different styles of paper to write Pen Pal letters back and forth to one another.

You will make it possible for my students to share common experiences with other Kindergartners and have the continued practice in story-telling and writing.
