I have energetic and inquisitive students who are very eager to learn. They like to collaborate with each other and thrive on the ability to use technology. I teach math to three fifth grade classrooms so I am able to reach over 60 students. These students keep me on my toes with their creative problem solving, humor, and their desire to learn.
Our school makes it a priority to build school community and provide a safe and caring environment to help create 21st Century thinkers.
We are a Title I school filled with children from diverse backgrounds. We have military, low income, English Language Learners, and gifted students. The students and staff come together to support one another so that everyone can reach their full potential.
My Project
My students need an iPad to practice math fluency with a multitude of apps available only through iTunes. They will watch lessons I create for self-paced learning. They will create their own videos to share with their peers. Students will also be able to research other ways to solve real world problems and connect to global learners.
They will defend their reasoning of mathematical solutions through presentations created with the iPad.
They will have the opportunity to research Project Based Learning activities, as well.
I will use the iPad to monitor and adjust lessons for students through various programs. These programs will also allow me to easily differentiate instruction for my students. The iPad is going to a great addition to our tech ready classroom.
