I have 16 dynamic students of varied abilities. They all bring something to the table but what most impresses me about them is how resilient they are. I can't believe I get to teach them. They are sweet, loud, kind, eager, energetic, full of wonder, respectful, and make me want to be a better teacher---a better human---every single day! My school is located in a rural setting and the socioeconomic status of my families seem to be on the lower end of the scale. Our classroom could use some cheer.
My Project
My school is located in a rural community. Many families are struggling financially and simply do not have the resources to provide "extras" for their child. To promote pride and self-efficacy, I am hoping to offer flexible seating to my students. Flexible seating keeps young minds alert and focused. Your help would make all of the difference in the world.
My students just need someone to believe in them.
Once that happens, they can begin to believe in themselves. Flexible seating allows them to move and increases oxygen flow to the brain as well as strengthening their core.
