You got to move it! And in Pre-K the children love to move!
In our school the Pre-K students do not go to a Physical Ed. class.
It is up to me to get the children moving whether through movement and music and/or gross motor activities. Movement is essential to their development!
My students are an energetic, diversified group of 4 and 5 year olds.
This is their first formal education in an elementary school environment. I want to provide them with the best possible experiences that I can. Since our curriculum encourages independent learning, proper materials for play and movement are essential to their learning experience.
My Project
By receiving the materials that I am asking for, my children would be able to use these materials to further develop their physical development such as traveling skills (running, hopping) their balancing skills (walking, running, hopping) and their gross motor skills (tossing, throwing, catching.)
Donations to my project would help because I would be able to leave some of the materials out for the children to use in their free choice time.
And, although the children would have access to some of these materials, I too would be using them in a more structured capacity as well.
Everyone needs to move - it's a win-win situation!
