Help me give my students snacks to meet a basic need of food. Students come to school hungry and unable to learn due to the fact that this basic need is not met at home.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing individuals who truly inspire me. Despite the daily struggles they face, they always have the most positive, lively attitudes. They bring a smile to my face every single day. I work in a Title I school where we have high percentages of children from severely low-income families. We struggle every day to help students meet their full potential because they come to school hungry, cold, sleep-deprived, unwanted, abused, etc. They deserve the opportunity to succeed on a daily basis.
My Project
13 million students go to school hungry every single day. 22 million students across the country rely on free and reduced lunch. Food insecurity puts tremendous stress on families, who worry about food running out before money becomes available to buy more food.
The truth is hunger hurts, and 46% of children from low-income families say hunger negatively impacts their academic performance.
I want to make sure my students have snacks readily available in the classroom to make sure they can focus on learning instead of focusing on their hunger. Food is a basic necessity and every single student should have access to it in order to get them one step closer to success. No student should ever have to fail at learning because they are hungry.
