My students need seating options, like lap desks and clipboards, so they can work comfortably. My students enjoy reading and working all around our classroom. However, as a new teacher, I have limited options for them.
22 different faces, names, and stories walk into my classroom each weekday. It is an honor to be involved in each of their journeys. My second graders are energetic and inquisitive. We do hands-on activities and spend little time at our desks if I can help it. The favorite activities in our room are anything that I can make a game--math fact war and predator vs. prey (food chain game) are on their most requested list.
It is easy to care about the lives and futures of my students, as I get to see the spark in their eyes when they get it.
I ask my students to dream big, take risks, and never give up! I am hoping to make an impact that they will take with them everywhere they go in life. I want them to love to learn and to read, as these are keys to delving into each other area of interest.
Supporting the children in my class will mean that they will have access to a learning environment that is tailored to their success. Sincere thanks for your interest and time!
My Project
Gone are the days of being tied to one seat all day long. Studies have shown that the bodies of children need to move and that their brains benefit from this movement. Educators today want to facilitate seating options for students to use while completing classwork. My students sit on counters, floors, and desks. I would like to offer them other options to use in class while writing and reading.
I can see my students really enjoying the lap desks and whiteboard-clipboards.
These new flex seating options will add to the atmosphere of our learning environment and encourage students to work comfortably. Having the whiteboard and clipboard all in-one will make working anywhere on the school grounds easier!
