Our students, although 90 percent of them live in poverty, come to school every day excited to learn.
100% of our students receive free lunches. They deserve the BEST, even though they don't even have their basic needs taken care of every day.
Many days it breaks my heart. All I can do is provide a topnotch experience for them so they can go on to empower our world.
My Project
It takes much planning to advance student reading. I'm requesting Crayola crayons, Mr. Sketch Scented Washable Markers, Staples laminated folders for student work, Stack & Pull storage bins for all groups, Expo dry erase markers to use on white boards for practice and Post-it notes to add to student work as a motivator. Reading games and materials include Learning Lift Off! CVC Words Game, Pop For Blends, Sight Words Swat!, The Reading Game, and Hot Dots Jr. Let's Master Reading.
It is my goal to help over sixty students in grades K through 5 improve their reading skills.
