My Students
The world is moving and it is moving fast. The technology available for the 21st century is exciting and engaging. The Galaxy tablet, similar to the iPad, includes many apps that support both social studies and science.
My students will benefit from your funding in many ways.
My students attend a Title I school and may not have the means to afford this technology outside of the classroom. They will gain experience with the latest technology and become proficient users of it. Furthermore, they will become inventors as they learn to create apps as an alternative to traditional paper and pencil projects. They will become engaged with the content and will be more motivated during technology Tuesdays as they have more chances to use the available resources for today's students. Your funding will allow me to "Flip" my classroom from old school to new school! The flipped model will allow me more time for higher level thinking activities. My special needs students will be able to hear the test read to them using the iPods. Students without internet access will be able to view the content via podcasts. My Project
Upon funding, I will immediately integrate the tablet in my already in place "tech" centers. Every Tuesday my students use various technologies to explore our current study of the curriculum. If funded, I will to add to these resources to our technology library. This will allow more students the opportunity to interact with tablets and give them more time to explore the wonderful world of technology. I will load my content standard apps to the tablets to continue to aide students in their study of science and social studies. Furthermore, I will continue to create podcasts for the iPod to be used in my transformation of my classroom. Students that struggle to keep up during lectures will now be able to pause, rewind, and watch the lecture/flipchart lesson at their own pace. It is my goal to move my content from basic knowledge base to application in accordance with Bloom's taxonomy. The funding of this project will motivate and help guarantee the success for all students.
