Yoga, Please!

Help me give my students yoga mats so that they can safely learn and practice yoga during Physical Education class!

My Students

My students are energetic and eager to exercise when they come to class. They set goals, collaborate with other students, and work hard to improve their fitness.

My students inspire me every day as I see them motivate each other and challenge themselves as they work out.

My students are mostly 9th and 10th-grade students taking "required" Physical Education classes. I am proud that they enthusiastically create personal workouts, including research and find a wide variety of exercises that they can do at school or at home, on their own or with friends AND they enjoy it!

My Project

My students have tried​ out various yoga workouts on iPads and Chromebooks as they develop their own fitness programs. Currently they use small crunch mats or no mats on the gym floor.

My students would love to use real yoga mats!

Yoga mats are much larger in size, yet thinner in depth than the mats we are currently using. In addition, real yoga mats are safer because they don't slip on the gym floor.

My students are really enjoying their yoga sessions. In fact, they enjoy them so much that we are taking a field trip to participate in a yoga class at a nearby fitness club.

I overheard some of my students talking amongst themselves, trying to find out who had yoga mats that they could bring to school. I would love to surprise them with a class set of new yoga mats!
