My students are diverse learners with amazing minds and abilities. As a teacher of such a vulnerable age group, I feel their social emotional well-being is essential to their academics. I have found yoga to be a fun, rewarding, and even easy way to promote physical and mental health at all age levels.
All levels will be welcome and students will be encouraged to bring and make friends in an exciting and warm environment.
We will shut off our phones and listen to music while we practice. I would like to have mats available so all participants do not have to bring them on the bus. This is where donations come in. I am kindly asking for donations to provide my yoga club 15 mats for the 2019 to 2020 school year.
My Project
My school offers a variety of clubs to its student body; however, very few of them focus on physical and mental well-being. I believe that a weekly club that allows students to focus on mindfulness and their health would have countless positive benefits to a large group of students.
I will lead students through yoga sequences that will allow them to become more confident in their bodies and mentally strong.
I wish to bring yoga to the students at my school through a yoga club that promotes mindfulness, confidence, and acceptance.
