I need to attend the Breathe for Change Summer 2018 sixteen day Training/200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certification + intensive classes in how to teach Breath work, Meditation, Mindfulness, and Anatomy.
Our students are creative and smart and sensitive. As creative people and teenagers, they wear their hearts on their sleeve, because they put so much of themselves into everything they do. They have really embraced the mindfulness techniques that I've slowly introduced in our classes. This training would take that work to the next level.
They are hard-working high achievers with a creative spirit.
A short meditation is a part of each of my classes, and I even have students who lead breathing exercises. I think that they are hungry for more techniques to deal with anxiety, stress, self-image, and self-realization. I want to receive the proper training in order to help them.
My Project
I want to become an expert in integrating yoga, breath work, and mindfulness into all of my drama classes and I want to be a mindfulness ambassador in our department and school.
Breathe for Change offers a yoga and mindfulness training designed specifically for Educators.
I will be with other New York City teachers, studying for 10 hours a day.
At the end of the 16 week training this summer, I will be a certified yoga instructor, armed with 16 weeks of courses in Asana, Anatomy, Breath work, and mindfulness techniques that I will be able to share with my students and our school community.
