My students enter the classroom each morning excited to see their friends, learn new skills, and practice old ones. We love to be silly and tend to laugh all day long but also take our work seriously and always strive to do our personal best!
2nd grade is a grade full of growth - both academically and socially.

My Project
Measurement centers will allow my students to explore nonstandard forms of measurement in a stress free manor. My students will be able to use these materials in a focused center group with an adult (teacher, aide or parent), as well as allow them to explore these concepts freely during free choice play time.
Measurement can be a difficult concept for many children.
I have requested measuring items from Lakeshore Learning. Lakeshore Measurement Discovery Can, Easy Read Rulers, Measurement Instant Learning Center, How Much Does It Weigh? Measurement Center will allow my students to explore different measurement concepts.
These materials and visual cards will help my students to visually grasp beginning measurement concepts and investigate with hands-on materials. These centers will allow my students to explore concepts like heavy vs. light, more vs. less, and length and width.
