Help me give my students an engaging way to learn the alphabet from manipulating alphabet robots to using their fine motor skills to move and match magnet letters.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are all from low-income households attending a Title I, high priority city school that is 100% free lunch. These children need opportunities to interact with a variety of classroom materials to support their learning, as most of them do not have access to many resources in their homes.
Learning your ABC's can be tough, having a dedicated hands-on ABC center would help bring the fun into learning the alphabet.
My Kindergartners are ready to learn and need many engaging manipulatives to enhance their learning of letters and sounds.
My Project
My students will be actively engaged in learning the alphabet while they are playing. The Alpha-Bots will bring the letters to life as they interact with them.
They will be able to transform letters into robots using their language skills while they act out scenarios developing needed language skills too.
Students who need work on their fine motor will enjoy stringing letter beads to spell names, put in ABC order, or even sight words. While the magnet maze will help to strengthen hand eye coordination that is needed to write. The magnet letters themselves will be used in many different ways, from spelling names to spelling sight words.
