This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Carl Lewis, former 9x Olympic Gold medalist said, "Track and field is the best way to reach out for kids. It doesn't matter how fast you are. You always want to beat someone." Take this chance to help a group of kids learn what it is like to work hard, progress, and see improvement as a result of a great work ethic and giving everything they have.
These athletes need the equipment and the resources to accomplish the lofty goals they have set for themselves.
The athletes on this team deserve to have the proper shot put to throw, baton to pass, and hurdle to jump. With the combination of the right equipment and team mentality, I believe this team can achieve things bigger than themselves. Help these athletes perfect their passion to represent themselves, their team, and school.
My Project
Many athletes want to be the best they can be at what they do, but to accomplish this, determination, coaching, and the right tools are necessary. Our team has the determination and coaching in place, now help us get the proper tools needed to master our craft.
Track requires a wide range of equipment because each event has its own requirements.
We need track spikes to give us the edge in competition and to help kids compete in shoes that their competition will have. Hurdles will be used to introduce athletes to events that so often we do not compete in due to lack of exposure. The list goes on and on, but every piece of equipment gets us closer to our goal.
