My students are engaged and motivated through a college preparatory program with technology and arts curriculum. They are very well-rounded liberal arts students with a foundation in exploration and problem-solving skills. My students work in a collaborative work environment that fosters intellectual diversity and prepares them to become active citizens.
Our student body consists of pupils who are very visual and kinesthetic.
They enjoy learning in the classroom and then applying their knowledge in the lab room. Our student demographics are as follows: 47% White, 25% Hispanic, 15% Black, 9% Asian, 4% Native American & Pacific Islander. Our student body has a high racial diversity.
My Project
In order to provide students with labs, they need lab-grade glucose solutions, sucrose solutions, starch solutions, distilled water, vinegar, and sterilized plastic cups. Many of our labs have multiple components, so purchasing prepared solutions of monosaccharides, disaccharides, and amylose will allow for a quicker facilitation.
Our students need laboratory materials for our yeast respiration lab and egg osmosis lab.
These prepared solutions will also be used in the future for our diffusion lab, murder mystery lab, and the mealworm labs.
As you can see, the materials listed will also be used for the next incoming class. Planning and preparing ahead allows for my structured classroom time!
