Ms. Ruzynski from Camden NJ is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 1 digital camera, 1 three-year geek squad protection plan, 1 memory card, 1 accessory kit, 1 camera bag, 1 tripod, 1 battery, and 1 action camera to put together our yearbook for the entire school.

Every young person in this great country deserves an exceptional education with the resources that are provided to the wealthiest in this nation. Everyday I come to school with this mentality and do everything in my power to provide my students every educational opportunity that was provided to me.
I have 15 amazing seniors who are just at the threshold of the assiduous lives.
I have taught these same students since their freshman year. This fact has lent me to get to know all of my students rather well. We are a project-based school in an urban community with high crime and poverty rates. Before my students even walk in to the school door everyday, they must successfully get through tremendous obstacles to even attempt to garner an education. Survival is many times to the forefront of their thinking, not reading, writing, and math. I can not do anything about where they reside, however I maintain that education can be both the escape from poverty and the way to bring change to a crippled community.
Since it is my students' senior year, we are in charge of making the yearbook to document this year. I have found that the resources we have are extremely limited. There is not a quality camera to capture events that should be included within this book. I believe that if we are able to attain the resources the I have requested we would be able to compile this yearbook with much more ease. The resources that I am requesting for this project are the following: 1 canon digital camera, 1 tripod, 1 camera carrying case, 1 battery, 1 accessory kit, 1 action camera, 1 mounting tripod, and 1 three-year protection plan. All of these resources will make completing yearbook and journalism tasks much easier than they are currently.
Every year, our school puts out a yearbook that is less than adequate in photo-quality.
I think that many times my students equate quality to something that a more economically advantaged school district will have. My desire is to afford them the same quality materials that other suburban school districts provide to their students. These would also be great resources that will be able to be used for years to come within our school. So that they same effects may be felt by the underclassmen.
