This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need some xylophones to play with our world music drumming ensembles to use in general music class as well as to use in upcoming assemblies and performances. Students will learn to read music notation by using these xylophones and I don't get a budget so this grant will help my class.

I teach elementary general music to students in grades PreK-8.

I teach in a large city. I see most students once a week for 50 minutes. My school is located in a low income area. My student population is very diverse and many languages are spoken here. I do not get a budget and rely on grants to provide necessary supplies for my music classroom which I could not have without these grants.

My Project

My students need some xylophones to use in our world music drumming ensembles in order to play the melody parts that are written for the ensembles. Students will use these in upcoming assemblies and performances throughout the year. Student will learn to read music notation with these xylophones. I do not get a budget and rely on grants and donations to have the necessary materials and instruments for my students to succeed.

Students will get to play xylophones in my general music class with our world music drumming ensembles.
