My Students

Our middle school music students thrive and grow everyday through the art of creating music. Hundreds of students enter the classes of band, choir, and orchestra everyday to connect and learn from one another. If you take any of the music classes at Sutter you are immediately immersed into the word of creative expression and technical music skills.

The students at our school deserve the best quality equipment available to become thought provoking musicians. Learning on old and weathered instruments from decades past can be close to impossible and my students deserve better that broken instruments!

My Project

This new Xylophone will make a world of difference in the musical education of all Sutter Middle School music students. The music room at Sutter holds hundreds of students everyday. This xylophone will be played in band, orchestra and even jazz bands and will fulfill countless other learning opportunities.

Currently, the xylophone that we have is over 30 years old and is lying on the floor in pieces.

The estimated cost to fix it is over the asking price for a new xylophone. This xylophone is a great addition to the percussion section as it adds depth to the students knowledge in how keyboards work. Learning xylophone is similar to learning the piano which is a basic tool in teaching music.
