We are a K-8 public charter school with a diverse population, located in rural Appalachia. Our teachers work to provide a stable, loving environment for those students and continue to teach with a passion to ensure the best learning possible. Our school strives to provide many different opportunities for students to learn and accelerate.

My Project
In my second grade class, I have made a decision that writing is not going to be left by the road side. Many times in schools writing is not taught because it isn't a tested subject but I believe this is a mistake! Students have lost the art of writing. I am trying to nurture this art in my classroom of second graders.
My students need mentor texts to use to learn all about opinion writing.
Having examples to use while teaching is fun for the students and the teacher. These hardback books will come in handy year after year.
