Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students need to feel like they are a part of something and they learn better when they actually are. The students I work with on a daily basis are accepting, determined and kind individuals. They are interested in learning whatever you throw their way and they want to grow as people.

My students are a great example of what change looks like. They strive to be different and improve every day. I admire this in them. They have the utmost respect for anyone as long as they are given it too.
My Project
My students are in need of materials that we are running low on to help us continue our amazing work. Not only in our writing and reading, but also in our day to day activities. I teach English as Second Language, and students are not required to buy classroom supplies for my room at the beginning of the year. Because of this, I am left to purchase them or ask parents to spend even more. I am hoping that you will help me in making sure that my students have what they need.
We use these items every day in small groups and on an individual basis to accelerate as learners.
In addition to the writing materials, I am requesting a box of snacks that my students can have available to them. Many times, my students don't have snack from home or they get hungry at an odd time. They know that I have snacks ready to go for them, but we are running low on those as well. I don't want to take that resource away from them, so I am hoping that the caring donors of DonorsChoose will look our way!
