Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second-grade classroom is a room full of fun and kind students. The students range in age from seven to eight years old. My school is located in Nevada in a very high-need community. Our school is a STEAM academy elementary school where students love to invent, explore, and be creative. They have a real joy for learning. The students love to come to school every day eager to learn. I love to watch them grow and succeed in the classroom.

My Project

I am hoping to set up an interactive writing station in my classroom where students can build their stories first with Lego's and then write it out. Legos are amazing resources to help my students in writing. The building bricks and mini figures are the fantastic way to hook my students on writing. These mini figures will help engage my writers by allowing them to visualize their story. Then the students will be able to plan their stories by actually building their idea with the legos.

By supporting our classroom you will make it possible for my students to learn to love writing instead of dreading it.

I want my students to feel empowered by being able to enjoy writing. This empowerment will enable them to reach their highest potential as writers. I want my students to love and embrace writing.
