This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are eager to learn, want the best out of life and have started believing in themselves. Unfortunately, some of their home-lives are unstable and; therefore, they lose many of the books that are sent home every day. Our day is filled with reading, writing and problem solving.
I want my students to have the same privileges as those who attend school across the city.
My school is a Title I school where most of the students have free or reduced-price lunch. We are a uniform school and many come unprepared every day without notebooks, paper, pencils, glue, scissors and etc. I don't want my students to go without anything. They are no different than other student who want to learn and have the best materials. I want to be able to provide resources for them to use at school at all times.
My Project
Writing is one of my favorite subjects and I keep every piece of my students' work from day 1 until day 180. Staplers break so easily and right now we need new ones so the students can staple their own papers and books. They love creating stories and sharing them with their peers. We need new staplers to assemble our mini-books and made-up stories. We also need color ink cartridges to make copies of our work to display on the bulletin board and to send home so parents can see their child's excellent work. Thank you for considering this project!
