Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are fun to be around, and they desire to learn a new language. My French classes are a place of challenge and discovery. Students will spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they move forward in advanced French studies.
The students are nine though twelve graders in high school.
They are excited to explore the world of Francophones by learning the language using visuals, audio, and hands-on activities. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.
My Project
My students need to write daily using the vocabulary words in French. They need to visually remember the different parts of an essay such as the intro, the body, and the conclusion by using a variety of gel pens and sharpies. The writing pad will help them draw outline to prepare their essay. The sticky notes will also help them brainstorm ideas by with their group or individually while preparing for their first draft.
My students will lack the opportunity to prepare for the final written french exam if I do not provide them with the necessary materials.
Asking an American student to write 400 words in French is not an easy task. It takes devotion and a lot of vocabulary words to succeed and I hope I can provide that opportunity to them.
